Information processed on your device

StrandSight may process the following information on your iPhone:

• Five hair and scalp views that you capture or select.
• Face-cropped hair and scalp images, if you choose to save them.
• Visible-coverage, photo-quality, and capture-comparability measurements.
• Questionnaire selections and Daily Care check-ins.
• Reminder settings, privacy-consent status, and subscription-entitlement status.

Camera preview and privacy crop

The live camera preview helps you align each view. The full preview is not written to StrandSight history. Before an image can be stored, StrandSight crops it to the hair and scalp region and performs an additional on-device face check.

Removing the face reduces identity exposure, but it does not make a hair or scalp image anonymous.

Your choice to save photos

Photo saving is off by default. You decide whether StrandSight may save the face-cropped images used for a check-in.

• When photo saving is on, encrypted face-cropped images and associated measurements are stored on your iPhone.
• When photo saving is off, encrypted scores, measurements, questionnaire selections, and other structured check-in data may be stored, but not the check-in photos.
• You can change the setting for future check-ins at any time.

Security

The encryption key used for StrandSight records is stored in the iOS Keychain. No security method can guarantee absolute protection, so you should continue to protect access to your iPhone and Apple ID.

Permissions

StrandSight requests camera access only when you use the capture flow and photo-library access only when you choose an existing photo. Notification permission is optional and is used only for reminders you enable. You can change these permissions in iPhone Settings.

Subscriptions

Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and payment information for StrandSight Pro are handled by Apple through the App Store. StrandSight reads Apple-verified entitlement information to decide whether Pro features are available. StrandSight does not receive your complete payment-card details.

Feedback

When you choose to send feedback, StrandSight opens the iOS share sheet. Your photos, questionnaire answers, analysis results, and subscription information are not attached automatically. You decide what to share and which external service to use. That service’s privacy policy applies to information you send through it.

Deleting your information

You can delete an individual check-in or clear saved photos, analysis records, and Daily Care records from the My tab. Deletion removes the selected StrandSight data from your iPhone and cannot be undone within StrandSight. Clearing local data does not cancel an App Store subscription or change system-level permission settings.

No tracking or advertising

The current release does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. If a future release introduces a server, analytics, crash reporting, customer-support upload, or another data recipient, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that release.

Product and medical boundary

StrandSight records visible appearance under the conditions of the photos provided. It does not count follicles, diagnose a condition, stage a disease, prescribe treatment, or predict when baldness will occur. Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional if you have sudden or patchy hair loss, scalp pain, redness, discharge, persistent itching, or other health concerns.
